Jim Carville in the flesh....

LEST WE EVER FORGET:

From:  Del_Dolemonte, 1 day ago with 4 points on captainsquartersblog.com

You drag a dollar bill through a trailer park, and you never know what trash might turn up.”

"You know what? I love him." [referring to Bill Clinton]

"Anytime the president says he didnt know something, I believe him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. That's the easiest thing to believe."

"Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don't have a clue as to political reality."

"What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want."

"The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn't have a clue than there were Republicans."

"Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you're smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That's why I'm a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”

RECYCLE...SAY WHAT?

01/21/08 10:47am PST

Here is some interesting information I dug up because this household in on a "recycle/green" type of program now for the past couple of months.  We earned $20.00 and used it to pay for lunch for four at Subway right after we stood in line for nearly an hour.  Then spent another twenty minutes feeding some machine while worrying that the plastic mountain behind us would fall over on us.  Interesting day.  They had no information on "what" we could recycle, by they seemed to take what they were given:  aluminum cans, of course.  No cardboard or paper.  Wine, beer and olive oil bottles although there weren't as many of those as you would imagine.  So I googled recycling plastics as here is what I found.  The recycle symbol is on the bottom of every plastic bottle so that helps.  If it is a 1, 2,3 or 4 you'll have an easy time of it (haha).  5-6 aren't in our daily lives as a genera rule but there is a website address below you can check out.  I don't even know what a 7 is and I probably won't find it in our home.

Below courtesy of:  http://www.lime.com/

Recycle: Polyethylene terephthalate's (PETE), commonly found in bottles for soda, water, juice, beer, mouthwash, ketchup, salad dressing, medicine containers, and microwavable food trays are readily accepted by curbside recycling programs. They can be made into fiberfill for winter coats, sleeping bags, life jackets, bean bags, rope, tennis ball felt, combs, cassette tapes, boat sails, furniture, and of course, other plastic bottles.

Recycle: High-density polyethylene plastics (HDPE), commonly found in heavier containers that hold laundry detergents and bleaches as well as milk, shampoo, and motor oil are readily accepted by curbside recycling programs. They can be made into toys, piping, lumber, and rope.

Recycle: Polyvinyl chloride, commonly found in plastic pipes, shower curtains, medical tubing, vinyl dashboards, and baby bottle nipples, is accepted by few curbside recycling programs due to its low rate of recyclability. Check the Earth 911 website to see if your municipal recycling center accepts number 3's.

Recycle: Low-density polyethylene (LDPE), commonly found in plastic wrapping films for food or dry cleaning, as well as grocery or sandwich bags, is accepted by very few curbside recycling programs. Unfortunately, most plastic bags will end up in the trash. However Whole Foods, Wal-Mart, and Wegman's Food Marts will recycle any plastic bags if you take them to the store. Check the Earth 911 website to see if your municipal recycling center accepts number 4's.

Recycle: Mixed or layered plastics have virtually no recycling potential. These are usually imprinted with a number 7 or nothing at all. Ambitious consumers can feel free to return such items to the product manufacturers to avoid contributing to local waste. Check the Earth 911 website to see if your municipal recycling center accepts number 7's.

I KNEW IT!!

01/19/08 8:04am PST

I knew it.  All I had to do was watch the grandchildren.  They're not learning anything in the scheme of life...except what they imitate on the tube.  Read the entire thing but here's taste:

Pioneering research shows ‘Google Generation’ is a myth

16 January 2008

All age groups revealed to share so-called ‘Google Generation' traits
  • New study argues that libraries will have to adapt to the digital mindset
  • Young people seemingly lacking in information skills; strong message to the government and society at large

SAY WHAT?

01/17/08 8:54am PST

I believe that we have reached that level of hateful discourse with the tinfoil hatted leftists loonies that anything to prevent Bush from doing anything is the "goal". They want what they want. They don't care who, what or where is harmed and they surely don't care about the amount of damage their ideas cause. This is pure hate. And not just against Bush, but for every living, breathing human on this planet that wants freedom to live their lives without the coercion inflicted on them, their race, gender, sex, country, religion....what have you. It is an amazing sight to watch people try to destroy everything they know even at the expense of themselves!!! Remarkable!

WE LOST WHO?

01/15/08  9:00am PST

On January 15th, 2008 at 11:16 am, meatpieandtatters said:

Just a brief rebuttal the whack-job Greenhouse’s staunch abortionist bent:

Dr. Brian Clowes, HLI researcher (www.hli.org), has examined the data from the 2007 Statistical Abstract of the United States Census and extrapolated the numbers of the various professions and categories of Americans who have been eliminated in the wake of nearly 49 million legalized abortions, one third of all Americans conceived since 1973. The following numbers are based on the actual government estimates of the professions represented in America. So then, who have we lost to abortion?

2 US Presidents
7 Supreme Court Justices
102 US Senators and 589 Congressmen
8,123 Federal, district and local court judges
31 Nobel Prize laureates
328 Olympic medalists including 123 Gold medalists
6,092 professional athletes
134,841 physicians and surgeons
392,500 registered nurses
70,669 priests, ministers, rabbis and imams including
6,852 priests and 11,010 nuns (vocations “shortage”?)
1,102,443 teachers (K-12)
553,821 truck drivers
224,518 maids and housekeepers
336,939 janitors
134,028 farmers and ranchers
109,984 police officers and sheriff’s deputies
39,477 firefighters
17,221 barbers, and
24,450,000…women (the gender of roughly half of all children aborted).

He's baaaack......

01/10/08 4:40pm PST

Yep, James Carville is back.  And, although I had sincerely hoped that he and his evil twin Paul Begala were out of the loop in this election cycle, they are back.  I saw him today and hope to avoid Begala at all costs in the future.  Jim's alliteration of his political diatribes is still there, but, he looks anorexic.  Too tired looking and thin.   I think he might be sick he looks so unhealthy but I hope not.  I may not like Jim, but I would not ever wish him ill like his ilk do to Tony Snow, Cheney and the President on an hourly basis.   We, on this side have morals and I try to be civil when writing.  I hope I have some success.  But Jim doesn't look well.  You know when your rhythm is off just a bit....just a tiny bit, but you can see and feel it.
I have often wondered, since the Monica days, what James would say to Him at the pearly gates.  If he honestly believes every word he has uttered in his career then Jim is full of hate, by my definition.  Does He allow you to get away with nasty evil things if you can honestly tell Him you believe them?  Or, does He look down on us and see Jim's side is not rooted in reality.  Because if He looks down and thinks it is our side, then I'm just as bad and crazy as Jim and I don't feel it, don't think it!  I try to see more than the two sides everyone is always screaming about:  your side, my side...and I also try to find and understand the third side:  the truth!!  I have read so many comments from tinfoil hatted leftist loons these past few years that I try, today, not to read them much at all.  They can make the bile rise and that is not good for a decent person.
So, he and Paul Begala are back.  Oh, well....sigh....

We, the human race, may never have the opportunity to "evolve" into a higher intelligence/consciousness/whatever. We have, I believe, finally gotten to the point where our technology will soon be capable of destroying us. Which, might not be a bad thing. Look at where we came from and who we came from as humans and you can understand that what took nearly 6 million years to evolve devolved in less than 15,000 years. Today the "caliphate" is running hard and fast right behind us and we, are running fast and hard away from a formalized religious culture. That is irony.

Religions were a way by which those that led the small bands and communities of humans used to teach, direct and control the more animalistic needs of the members. When the bands ceased to exist and the communities grew very large, the leaders used religion additionally to control all aspects of life for their members.

But, no matter how many gods, one or many, we as homo sapiens, needed then, and need now, the time to evolve to a better level of humaness in order to put aside the hatred and murder that goes on daily is gone. There are too many, too ignorant, too hateful who refuse to use their brains for anything more than money, power and killing. Beam me up Scotty!

Dec 7th

We, the right side of the blogosphere, need to keep up the pressure daily on all the dinosaur MSM and the politicians of every stripe. Most are still not getting "it": the Internet has made it possible to preserve for posterity what really, actually went down. Not 100% yet, but it is getting there. Nothing can be hidden easily anymore. Who a person is will show up because it is impossible to be "someone" else all the time. That is the reason CNN, or Hillary plants or Bubba continue to behave in their way, they and their supporters and staffers truly believe that we, the American people, will be largely ignorant of their mistakes, lies and deceit. Only our daily pressure for them to "fess" up will turn the tide, possibly. This includes our side as well. Time will tell.

Tis the Reason for the Season

12/14/07 10:48pm PST

I try to read the 12 blogs I follow daily.  On slow news days it's easy not so on busy, busy news days.  But at this time of the year, news slows a bit so I have been fortunate to have read all my blog favorites (plus many, many, many more via links) already.  I touched base with Chris Hitchens on Hotair.com where he is holding forth with three other atheists on...wait for it:   God and religion.  I commented there that, as an atheist, you would never find me among those four....ever!  So much nonsense.  Let me believe what I believe...I will let you believe what you believe.  Just don't try to shove your stuff down my throat or worse yet, cut it!  I have my own philosophy and I'm sticking to it.  After all, the chances of finding out what really is there is slim and none for anyone still breathing.  My spouse knows.  He left us last Christmas but he's not come back to tell the family what's he has found.  He, of course, knowing him, would be laughing his head off at what we and the world might be into this season.  In particular the presidential race.  But, he would also be in profound awe at what he just might come across as he tours the universe.
Read where Iran might lose as many as 18-20 million in a nuclear war with Israel.  Syria may also lose close to 18 million if  they joined in and Egypt would suffer enormous losses.  Israel?  Somewhere in the 800,00 range...an acceptable lose?  Hmmmmm
On the news: sniffles, sore throats and coughing may be the result of that fresh Christmas tree in your front room.  Seems there are molds that attack them after they are cut down; mites and other insects plus plain old dirt.  Still, as my daughter just said, it could also be the change in weather.  Hmmmmmm.
Seems that Bubba and Hillary Clinton still believe that we peasants are stupid...or was it dumb? Is there a difference?  Their machine, however, may be getting a small clue that the Internet has changed the rules of their game.  Her Christmas add is about "providing (read give) us with present", you know, universal health care, pre-K universal education, etc., etc....the only fact she hasn't gotten around to telling us, is that we will be paying for these presents with our own money!!  Such generosity gets to me every time, including my wallet.  Enough I say, enough!!
McCain is gaining....Rudy slowing....Fred is up and getting busy...Mitt wishing and Huck, well Huck is trying to pull a Huckster on us.  He also thinks we're dumb....for pity's sake, he is a Minister of the Baptist faith...that should tell you everything you need to know.
Obama got nothing for his Oprah gig....Edwards, silky boy is still dead last and Hillary has finally gotten some competition.  Wow...what a race on both sides.  And, we have to have one of these in the White House? Pity us.
Also, the UN just got billions in dues/bribes to spend on themselves.  I say, CUT THEM OFF!  KICK 'EM OUT!
Oh and before I forget, Pakistan lost a whole ton of cash America donated to help feed the poor!  How is that any different than the money we pour into Africa, South America and points all over the globe!

JUST REMEMBER, THE MORE THINGS CHANGE THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME!!  However in the spirit of the season let me wish you and yours a wonderful, warm and successful Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.

Sue

THE SUB-PRIME MESS AND BUSH!!

12/07/2007   9:52 am PST

FROM THE ACTUAL TRENCHES:

My understanding is that Bush is NOT bailing the consumer(s) out of this crisis.  He is leaning hard on the Lenders to work with the borrower(s) so that are housing market doesn't continue to crumble - in hopes of "stabilizing" our communities/economy.

Am I happy about this?  Yes and no. I am a homeowner who has always played by the rules and also a casualty of this catastratrophe. I have been in the Industry from the early '80's and went into subprime 10 yrs ago. Unless you have been in the trenches - completely lived and breathed this - you have no idea of all the components that have led to where we are today. Most people are observing from the "nose bleed" section of this "event", giving their commmentaries and fingering pointing. Enough -

In the last 15 months I have been involved in 3 closures of major Companies.  I am currently in jeopardy of loosing my home in the next several months.  I have embraced the fact that I may just have to walk away.  Do I deserve this? Hell no but neither do the tens of thousands of my peers.  Not all of us sold our souls.  We are normal people just like you who now have nothing to turn to and are being black listed. Having to start over when we should be focusing on our retirements.

What we should be questioning is who is being allowed/approved for these extensions?  What is the list of criteria?  For example, some very savvy Brokers and borrowers were refinancing (aka churning) their Option Arm's loans over and over again to take advantage of the teaser rate and going "stated"/"NINA"/No Doc (they were not required to provide income documentation - before you jump, there was typically nothing wrong with this because of their much higher ficos, credit depth/excellent payment histories, etc etc) and are they now being required to provide income documentation and are the Lenders processing a 4506? (form used to validate income reporting through the Government)  If they can qualify to make the higher payments then they should not be allowed?  Are they a United States Citizen?

I could go on and on...but I think that is where the focus needs to be.  This newly founded "process" should be for the  borrower(s) who truly cannot afford the higher payment now.

        *       *           *         *
This is from my daughter....she is 100% correct!.  Let Bush and Congress know what it is they have to do to get this done the right way.  Very, very few people actually understand Lending...I know as that was my field.  When I started interest rates were 4 1/2%, gold was at $36 per oz, all loans were 30 years fixed and the qualifier was 25% of the your gross as your housing payment and practically no bills and 20% cash down minimum.  I have lived through 4 housing crisis including this one.  In each event, at the beginning of the next cycle, housing was more expensive, not less.

The Obama Definition of Father....

12.07/07 8:05am PST

It is always a fascination to me why people do not understand a basic principle of life:  you must know who someone comes from and where they come from to begin to understand who they are.
Take Obama (please).  He writes a book, "Dreams of my Father", in which he anoints the man that fathered him with every young child's expectations of a father.  Yet, Obama's father is nothing like this, never has been, and if still alive, is not.   Yet his dismissal of his mother and grandparents who did in fact raise him makes me wonder.
In my own personal life, my own children have had to deal with this type of sorrow.  A biological father who ultimately preferred his way of life more than his children.  In the case of the boys, they pretty much shook off the pain and humiliation...the girl not so much.  But, in no instance did they ever dismiss me or their step-dad and, in fact, loved him and love me even understanding my failures.  Our one triumph is who they and my grandchildren are.   Obama yearns for something he never had and his rage is underneath his skin in the blood that courses through his veins.  I don't even know if he is aware of this.
Now, I have wondered about Obama's wife and the anger I have seen on her face, heard in her voice and watched in her body language.  I know nothing of who she is, except for what I hear, see and feel.  Yet, these two people seem well suited to each other.  For whatever reasons, they are both angry.  And, I truly do not think it has to do with race in any way shape or form, as some think.  It has to do with themselves and where and who they came from and even though they can use all the excuses they wish, that is the bottom line.
Anyway, that is my opinion and take on the Obamas and why I won't vote for him!

Bolton said what????

12/06/07 9:21 am PST

With extremely high confidence, I conclude irrevocably, that the NIE Intelligence Report is an OXYMORON!!!

Intelligence wasn't used, bias and partisanship was.  They'd better pray daily that Iran doesn't blow some city up here or in Europe.  Talk about "egg" on your face.  Dumb, dumber and dumbest is the best the NIE could come up with for this.  Shame, shame, shame.

A Tarnished Golden Compass??

12/14/07 9:50am PST

First, let me say up front that I am an atheist.  I believe with all my heart that every single human has the right to believe as they wish provided they do not impose that belief on anyone for any reason.  I know that "religion" has been a way to teach, direct and control the more "animalistic" desires of people.  I also know that religion has been and is used to control, to dictate, to kill.  Here is my response via post to the "Golden Compass" review I just finished reading a movie based on the premise(?) that religion is "bad":

We, the human race, may never have the opportunity to "evolve" into a higher intelligence/consciousness/whatever. We have, I believe, finally gotten to the point where our technology will soon be capable of destroying us. Which, might not be a bad thing. Look at where we came from and who we came from as humans and you can understand that what took nearly 6 million years to evolve devolved in less than 15,000 years. CONGRESS CAN'T COUNT!!!

12/03/07 1:28pm PST

I think the Democrats in Congress need to call on "The Count" of Moppet fame.  Seems that this congress can't count.  They think a FIVE DAY work week starts at 6:30 pm on a Monday and ends on a Friday around 2 pm!!  Wow.  Why have Americans been putting in so much free time for their employers?

courtesy of  The Weekly Standard at worldwidestandard.com, edited by Michael Goldfard:

Congress Ditches the Five-Day Workweek

When Democrats seized the majority in Congress, the world turned upside down. One of the big changes instituted was a requirement that the House actually work five days each week. As the Washington Post reported:

Hoyer and other Democratic leaders say they are trying to repair the image of Congress, which was so anemic this year it could not meet a basic duty: to approve spending bills that fund government. By the time the gavel comes down on the 109th Congress on Friday, members will have worked a total of 103 days. That's seven days fewer than the infamous "Do-Nothing Congress" of 1948.

Well, it hasn't turned out all that well. The House and Senate are still unable to pass the basic appropriations bills to fund the government--more than two months after the start of the new fiscal year. And now, House Democrats have decided not only to ditch the five-day work week for the year ahead, but to actually work fewer days than normal. According to Roll Call:

House Democrats have circulated a draft 2008 legislative calendar and vote schedule, reflecting a somewhat lighter workload that is traditional in an election year...

According to the draft, the House would be scheduled for just three five-day workweeks next year--one each in March, June and August.

The surprising thing here is that the 5-day workweek generally extends from Monday at 6:30 pm to Friday around 2:00. A 3-day workweek runs from Tuesday evening through Thursday.

Do Democrats really anticipate accomplishing so little next year?

Chavez and Putin!!

12/13/07 12:19pm PST

Who won and who lost?  That's easy.  America lost.  The Western Countries, lost.  The thugs won.  The bullies won.  The crude won.  And, we must ask ourselves why?.....how?  To say that the concept of humankind as an animal that requires hard domination over itself by often cruel, greedy thugs, may explain it.  It took us over 6 million years to get to the point that a brainier human developed and then Cro-Magnon, took over the planet about 100,000 years (plus or minus little) ago.  Whether they killed off other species of humans, such as Neanderthal, is an open question.  A question, I have spent decades questioning but am now beginning to see might be the answer to their dying off.
Perhaps we humans are better poised to be the the serfs on this planet that make the thug, bully, crude or narcissist our better.  In over 100,000 years, the king vs slaves motif has been the predominant indicator of human existence.  Perhaps that great experiment on the planet Earth was exactly that, an experiment doomed to failure by the overwhelming history of our kind.  It took our small country over 200 years to begin to become the greatest on the planet, and less than 100 to turn the ship of state back towards the servitude we apparently need or desire in order to be happy.
Unfortunately, the minuscule number of evolved humans will have to pass away or be put away for the Chavez's and the Putin's to be truly happy.  Which are you?
