A Virulent Virus!

    It is brutal, deceitful in that it changes its look so that it’s hard to recognize and it has plagued our planet for over 1300 years.  It has been festering in the sands, caves and mud homes of people.  It has moved slowly but relentlessly from abode to abode, from city to city and from country to country.  There is nothing that can stop it short of death.  It has created a net of ignorance and horror for those who live within it.  Blood and death are its compatriots.  Fear is its greatest ally.  Self destruction of its young people is its sainted goal to achieve total dominion over this planet.

    We have been so blithely sure of our ways of living and thinking that we have allowed it to grow in the fetid ground of political correctness.  A totally unknown result of the ultra Left’s thinking for nearly 100 years.  The ultra Left, aligned with other groups like the anarchists, communists, socialist and uber Leftists, has been so involved in doing everything it can to get its way, that they took their eyes off the ball, and never saw it coming.  Indeed, they still are so enmeshed in the “It’s all about me and nothing to do with you” mantra, that they have allowed this vicious virus to spread its tentacles throughout our educational, judicial, political system and allowed the infection to run rampant in our land. 

    As our brother and sisters in Europe, they are more interested in imposing their world view on everyone:  entitlements for every cause for every individual.  Today, Paris is burning nightly.  England if searching desperately for 1600 men that are sworn to decimate them.  Holland is trying, a bit too late, to undo some of its laissez faire attitude.  Israel stands alone, once again having to face the horde of maniac murderers that have surrounded them for over 60 years. 

 We are now faced with total catastrophe in Europe and the Middle East.  Southeast Asia has been infected completely by this old virus and the exceptions are Japan, South Korea and China.  It is unfortunate that China, whose foreign policies have been directed towards America for decades, will now have to adjust its policies to deal with the hordes that await to conquer it. They won’t be American or European, but Middle Eastern.  That is a contest it would be worth living to see:  two of the most populous countries with large standing armies coming to blows.

    Will we be safe?  Can we avoid what awaits the rest of the world?  Perhaps for a time, but the virus has already made inroads into our lifestyle and unless we are willing to do some beneficial amputation, our demise is already written in the stars.     November 15, 2006, 5:45pm  (910member)

GOODBYE!

I wish to be one of the first to issue a heartfelt thank you to one of the greatest Americans that has served his country with honor, distinction and a wonderful work ethic:  Donald Rumsfeld.

When the history of this period is written by non partisan, honest historians, it will be noted that he took an old style military and changed it into a lean, mean machine.  He is of the old guard and looking back, the future will miss men like him.  No one and nothing can take away his contributions to the United States of America.  A patriot, veteran and tough man is hard to find today.  Donald Rumsfeld is the last of his kind and we will be a sorrier nation if the country doesn't thank him and wish him God's speed.

May the wind be always at your back Mr. Rumsfeld and the devil take no notice until you are safely in heaven.

RUMINATING...

Tough love is just that "tough"!  The Republicans got a face full of tough love yesterday from their constituency.  No way to spin it any other way.  Truth to power was a clear lesson from us, the people, to you. 

One of the lessons to be learned from yesterday's experience, is that once over the hump, you pick youself up, dust yourself off and begin again.  Maybe with the "big spenders" gone we can back to basics.  I certainly hope so.

Maybe the President will talk tough, too!  It is a perfect time this to start.  He won't be running for anything.  He doesn't owe anyone anything anymore.  He needs to be more blunt.  I appreciate Tony Snow for the feistiness the President has shown in the past few weeks.  A little late, but never sorry.  

The bloggers of note need to stay on top of everything that goes on, get the facts, proof and publish so that, we the people, can do something about it.  For starters, I would love to know what the assets are of every incoming representative and senator.  Then we should keep up to date on that information to see if the assets grow and the why and how.

We also need to find a way to get the politicians from behind the firewall they've erected so that our emails don't always reach them.  They get paid with our tax dollars and need to learn that the days of the MSM dictating was "we the people" should now is over!

I'm going to start by trying to email Tony Snow.  Who knows, I might get lucky.

A WHUPPING!

As of this moment, the Republicans look to be in for a whupping!  Who to blame?

They only have themselves to blame.

First, they forgot that only Democratic politicians can get away with corruption, sex scandals and the like.  Republicans, unfortunately, never having learned to fight,they resign and run off to rehab centers or disappear into the sunset.

Second, not having power for decades they finally took the majority and went on a spending spree.  They forgot who voted them in.  They forgot our values.  They aligned themselves with lobbyists just like their counterparts.

Third, these guys and gals need to learn how to fight for what is right and for what they believe in.   I mean, look at the Left, they'll sell their own and never wince.  They will tell you what you want to hear, need to hear or been hardwired to hear.  That's how they keep their base.  Republicans try to sound reasonable and like they care.  But, it comes across as self serving.   Yep, it's time for a change.

Until the Republicans learn to "get it on" with the Democrats, they won't get back their mojo.  Yep, time for a change.

But, I also blame the President.  He should have fought hard for the issues we care about.  He should have fought harder for the judges he wanted.  He should have been out there, at least weekly, and kept us up to date.  He needed to counter the MSM and the Uber Left politicians.  He came too late to the party.

Now, Nancy Pelosi looks to have the drapes delivered.  Conyers will start his impeachment gig.  Hillary will continue to waffle around the middle depending on who her audience is.  And Murtha will force a cut and run strategy. 

Look what you, Republican politicians, have wrought.

Simplistic.  I know, but that's how I feel about this night.  Of what use is there to have the Michelle Malkins, Instapundit, Hugh Hewitt's of this country try to talk reason and sense when our elected don't?  We get it out here.  Why can't they.

A Little History circa 1500

Some things change.  Some things don't. And, someday I'll learn  to edit on a  blog.

The next time you are washing your hands and.
complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the1500s:
 
Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, Don't throw the baby out with the Bath water..

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals
would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying . It's raining cats and dogs.

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house.. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, Dirt poor. The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entranceway Hence the saying a thresh hold.

(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and! did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme, Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old..

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, bring home the bacon. They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and chew the fat..

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or the upper crust.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a wake.

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground
and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, saved by the bell or was considered a ..dead ringer..

And that's the truth...Now, whoever said History was boring ! ! !

Foley's Folly or Our Failure

Who is to blame for Foley's mess?  Foley, of course!  If the Republicans lose this coming mid-term election, is will be because they have abandoned the principles and run like drunken sailors spending our tax dollars and making money for themselves.  They don't have the strength of character to stand up for what's right, only what's easy.  They have allowed the Left to run the show and now have only themselves to blame if they lose!

But, it is also the failure of this country's changed mores by people who wish to completely change what America was, has become and will become.  When did it start?  How far has it gone?  What have been the beneficial and detrimental effects of the past 100 years? 

As woman who is just lite 60,  I experienced a great deal of the change starting from the l960's Aquarian Revolution.  The 60's of drugs, sex and anti-establishment.  I am not a Boomer...missed it by a couple of years.  So, my generation was actually part of the pre Boomer.  I lived by rules that are laughable by today's standards.  We broke as many of the rules imposed on us as we, each in their own way, could.  Some of us have lived to regret what went on in the 60's but in my case, I was already married with a couple of children before all hell broke loose.  The Beatles were an anomaly to me with their long hair, foreignness but their music rocked.  Mick Jaeger and Kiss  were, for me, totally out of the realm of reality.  I liked little of their music and none of Mick's hi jinks.

I picked up and read Betty Freidan and wondered how this person could know what I thought and wanted to know about life as a woman and generally agreed with her that women were second class citizens.  The proscriptions on women were terrible, I thought and based on what I was experiencing I totally supported the Woman's Movement.  In fact, I broke, along with my boss, the dress code in our company.  I remember wearing a polyester pantsuit that I hated and later went for suits that had only pants.  Didn't own a dress for nearly 10 years.  I truly felt that I part of the changing world.

Reality intervened with a spouse who was into adultery, drugs and no work.  A single mother, finally, I attended the founding meeting of a group called MOMMA and felt so totally out of place in my two piece suit, nylons, high heels and make up that I left and never went back.  I also gave up Ms. Magazine because they never addressed any of my needs, a criticism I still hear about them today.  Gloria Steinem, I understand, finally got married.  The woman that represented feminism became the political ally of the Left without regard to the women of this country in general.  And nothing to do with NOW has changed.

I was a member of a local chapter of NOW, subscribed to Ms. Magazine, met some of the women who were part of that movement and even joined in a protest(?) at the ABC Entertainment Center in Century City, California.  WOW!!! Was I spectacularly wrong!  I have lived to regret  supporting  a woman's right to abortion, they have used it as a method of birth control.  Shame on them and me.  Equality of opportunity became "equal under the law" and equality became a buzz word for "I have a right to this job, even though I am unqualified for it and I don't intend to waste my time trying to learn anything...just give me the job and the damn paycheck"!

The Aquarians turned to education, bureaucracies of all sorts at every level of government and began to brainwash the next three generations.  Look at what they have wrought.  They empowered the Uber Leftists that want to complete the changes to this country and make it a socialist model.  They have refused to look closely at what is really happening to the socialist models in Europe.   They don't care and maybe they just don't understand.  Whatever the reason, America is under siege, not only by the Uber Leftists, but by people in this world who wish to return the planet back to the ugly centuries of the Middle Ages.  Indeed, what have we wrought?

Dysfuntion Junction

Bill Clinton in real life!  Can you actually believe that he was caught for being who he truly is?  Slick Willy?  Angry Billy!  Rude.  Crude and dumb.  Dumb to think that he and the Missus can get away with it, one more time.  My first impression was that James Carville was actually wearing a Clinton fake face.  I heard some commentary on that point earlier.  But, remember that all things start at the top.  Bill had then, and has now, the same type of people that he and Hillary had with them for their run for the Presidency and later over the stained Blue dress.  People just like them.  That was the hardest time for me.  I watched as dozens of his "supporters" lied to our faces for weeks, while he did all he could to obstruct justice. 

And, no, don't be dumb too.  He lied under oath!  The President of the United States lied right to our faces while shaking his finger at us as if we were the two year-olds in trouble.  His wife lied to us for him and to herself.   At least, I hope she also lied to herself.  I had a cheating husband at one time, long, long ago.  The first time someone told me that he was cheating, I truly didn't believe it.  By the second and then subsequent times, I knew the truth.   I remember blaming myself for his indiscretions.  I was at fault.  I had a lack.  You name it, I thought it.  The truth was he as not a good man.  If he cheated on me and my children, then what was he really?  Today, decades later, he hasn't changed.  But my hubby today is a true find!  I think that Hillary has chosen political power as her second "hubby".  But no resolution in a life is not good for the peace a human needs to make the kinds of decision a President of America must make.  And, if she if willing to put up with this type of behavior...what other types of things might she be willing to put up with? 

One more thing, he lied.  My Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary, l969-71, says:

sexual:  1: of, relating to, or associated with sex or the sexes, 2:  having or involving sex.

sex:  3a. a sexually motivated phenomena  or behavior.

So, had Mr. Clinton said "I did not commit adultery" he wouldn't have lied, and the consequences would not have so very dear.

Sorting

   In a July 21, 2006 post, (kmaru@blogspot.com) whose blog is very good , made the point that there has been a "gradually sorting going in the world" since the 1979, when America's Iranian Embassy was invaded.  Read the entire post.  I don't want to take things too much out of context. Although the "world" had been sorting itself out since 1979, our politicians and all the media in this country did nothing to either know it, understand it or acknowledge it, in my opinion. They failed the American populace by continuing on their socialist message and turning a blind eye.

The Middle Eastern countries, on the other hand,  have never educated their masses in anything but the Koran and some only in their inhumane Wahabisims.   The propaganda machines in the Muslim countries have been awesome, from pulpits and on the street,you see hundreds of thousands in many countries "protest" with readily available, preprinted banners, placards, flags all on a moment's notice and on demand.  Much better than the coordination in America and certainly as good as the ultraLeft in this country.

I have watched as the EU has been used to further the aims of the fanatics in the Middle East by the streams of immigrants allowed in these countries and saw the pillaging and burning just a few months ago.   The European attitude of "appeasement" worked only to create a underclass of Muslims, many supported by these socialist countries through their welfare system.  They did nothing to encourage assimilation even though I don't think assimilation would have been possible because of the agenda brought to Europe by the Imams that are the main contributors, as they have always been, towards the overtaking by legal or illegal means the countries that offered by a home as stingy as it was.

America, also allowed the Muslims to emigrate to this country, but unlilke the Socialist EU, this is still a country of entrepreneurship and, generally, in the end money is the most important thing.  However, the Left in this country had not been able to put its agenda into place 100%.   The leaders of the Muslim population in this country, Imams and other seeking to wield power, began to do what the ACLU has been doing, going to the courts and seeking legal means to change laws so that they can move towards their goal of converting this country.  CAIR has been very instrumental in this and uses academics and Muslim students and their sympathizers to good effect.  There is good reason why CAIR uses the legal system, the abuses that have occurred in the world because of their religion's profession of world insensitivity to their God, would not be tolerated here.

I, am personally tired of this religion of Peace.  Those who believe it is possible to dialogue or find consensus for anything with Islam are dead wrong!  I seriously wonder how in the world you negotiate, talk or try to find common ground with people whose belief system is based on the total annihilation of everyone who will not convert or enslavement for those who may be necessary for the running or obtaining the wealth of the countries brought under dhimmi?

It is very clear that the terrorists are committed to their "cause" in a way that you will not find Westerners committed. Westerners have become wussies without a backbone willing to be bent over in order to keep whatever type of life is allowed. Even if, we became the socialist/communist or anarchist government the Left has been demanding for the past 100+ years, what difference does anyone suppose it will make to those who follow the teaching of Islam and their leader of today? The closest analogy I can come up with is: have you ever tried to negotiate or appease a cranky, hostile 2-year old?   The hope is that the 2 year old will grow, with parents and society help, into a responsible, mature thinking human being.  Not so with Islam.  Perhaps they need another 1000 years in order to grow enough to be able to live with the rest of us in this imperfect world and its imperfect peoples.

Sigh, we are in for a brutal, long term 'war' and I greatly fear for my great grandchildren for they may not be free, just dead or bowed.

Definition of Words

I have been unable to post this because this site does not allow the use of certain words. I can understand that in today's PC world.  However, how are we to ever get to the heart of anything if we are not allowed the freedom to use the words necessary to express out thoughts? 

I need to establish some guidelines: definition of words is very important. What I think a word means may be different from how you define a word. An example: when I started in the loan business, we had Loan Officers...salespeople who sold the products. Today, however, they are called AE's or Account Executives.

See what I mean? Check this out in your own world. If you are young ask your parent's to find examples. Another reason definition is very important between people, is that what is intended may not be what is understood. "Nothing" is a word that means one thing to women and another to men!

When I use the word tribe, I mean a small group of people that are together to simply survive. Simply put, there is safety in numbers. It is easier to find food, find or make shelter and make sure that the offspring reach the age of maturity in order to insure the survival of the group.

It is still the same in the animal world as it is in the animal known as H... Sapien: us. It will be useful to remember that there is nothing that has not happened before, no act, deed or emotion. Neither the causes for it or the reactions. We may be able to bomb out of existence hundreds, thousands, even millions, but the intent to do away with is the same, one to one or multiples.

As it was in the beginning, so it remains. The size of the group or tribes has changed dramatically. The reasons are still the same. The consequence of tribes today, however, have the possibility of obliterating us from the planet. That is different and will continue to be only more ominous.

Until Neanderthal, I believe, there were no "leaders". There were no egos. No desire for more than what was necessary.  To survive was the highest purpose for humans.  This they have done in a remarkable and sad way.  Perhaps there is no other way.  Six million years of evolution and we come to this:  21st Century's Culture Clash. 

Those ancient peoples needed each other in order to survive.  It follows then that the larger a tribe of people became, there also developed a need for some to make decisions, point the way, establish, what I believe were, long standing "rules" of behavior.  I would like to think that everyone understood the necessity to join in a communion of good works for the whole to continue.  But somewhere around 50-100,000 a group of being we call Cro Magnon ventured to parts of the world they had never been to before.  With them, all things "modern", began a rapid development towards what we have now.  Tribes throughout the world known as Americans, Europeans, Russian, Africans, Chinese and Muslim, to name but a few.  True, some of these tribes were established by border rather than a shared history and culture. Others bordered themselves because of racial, religion, political or hegemony.  It matters greatly.

"Human" Persons, some history

It is we, us, that is indeed different. I have never considered the word "special" as it applies to modern man. Therefore, for me, the question I believe is still out there is: where did Cro-Magnon, modern man come from? I am certain that somewhere on the planet another sub species developed that ultimately became modern man. The theory that the Neandertals were wiped out by the modern humans "feels" right to me based on the ultimate development of modern humans into what has existed on this planet over 7000 years: barbarism everywhere. The bloodlust and cruelty that has been well documented for over 5000 years to this day, tells me, at least, clearly that modern humans, while having traits of previous primate lineage to whatever degree evolved differently.

It would be highly interesting to see another view of history, using Neandertals to present, just to be able to see if they would be so blindly brillant, stupid, cruel and loving. In fact, I have often speculated that there is a nano percentage of modern man that descended with Neandertal genes which allowed for a higher evolutionary level than the rest.

But, what do I know, I'm just an old broad that loves the subject but never got a chance to go to college and "dig in" so to speak. I'm awaiting the time when I can bravely say: beam me up Scotty.

The "Why" of it

The "Why" of it
An email conversation caused me to do a bit of research on the political parties in America. I generally knew that the Deomocratic Party had ruled here in this country for about 100 years. With the losses only in l980,l982,1984, 1994, briefly in 2000 and, of course, nothing since.

What I discovered, however, was that the Left or some like type had actually been in power in this country since before 1825! There were the Whigs, Free Soil, Know Nothings and Bull Moose Progressives to name a few. When the Republican and Democratic Parties become more mainstream, these different parties split with half to the Republican and half to the Democrats. What I found instructive was that those in favor of a more agrarian country and pro slavery generally migrated throughout this period towards the Left side of ideology. This is simplistic, but the post needs to be as concise as possible.

Their true loss of power didn't really get achieved for any long period of time, until the current Bush Administration. Eight years out of power in 30 is difficult to say the least.

My focus, however, was on a group that had operated separately until the early 20th century when they merged with the Democrats. They were called the Douglas Democrats. They were largely responsible for Roosevelt's social programs before the WWII and have continued to increase in power gradually until the 1960's when their agenda became part of the anti-war movement. The first time they could and did change the direction of this country. Their "good intentions" for the rest of us based on their ideology created the road paved with gold that has led America to the Hades we have experienced in every part of our country since the 1970's.
They are not, in my opinion, so much Left as truly anti anything American. They believe that they are the leaders in an ideology that stresses the socialist meme of: we know what is best, we will make sure you follow what we say and you will pay with your taxes to make our wishes possible, and you can't do a thing about it!

That is where the hate and vicious vitrol come from, they have not been able to take the reins of this country and until George W. Bush they were confident that their time had come! Bush halted them. In the past five years, they have gradually been exposed for what they are. They have aligned themselves with the existing Fifth Column, Communists and Anarchists and 'hate' became their operative raison d'etre. The middle of the road, reasonable, moderate side of the Left is almost gone. And, as Kos has learned, no one can control them now.

This group has been part of the American landscape since before its inception and continues to this day. One question: do the supporters of these people understand what the goals are? Or, is the hatred too much to listen to reason.

So, is it any wonder why "they" hate America so much. Will Americans make the mistake of voting them in this year in the congress and then let Hillary/Kerry/Gore or some other with their goals gain the presidency?

Something I wish to share

As most of you can see, I haven't posted since July 12 of this year.  The reason is simple.  How do I possible write anything more or different, even better than those on my blogroll?  I can't.  So, I haven't.  But this afternoon while waiting for a 10 year old to swim for a couple of hours, I read Scientific American.  This is one of several magazines that part of me that want's to "know".  The blogs and websites I visit do that for me for all subjects.  Funny, isn't it that I don't have too much to do with the computer when it comes to science and there is so much happening and no one knows about it?

I have decided that I will try posting once a day, sorry Hugh, can't do more, but it will concentrate on science.  I have a great advantage:  my youngest brother is a physicist and a senior one at that, so I can ask all sorts of questions to fill out my understanding.  Of course, that will mean  not only will I have to read the articles 100% but will also have to read my brothers emails in response to questions.  My brother doesn't know what a short email is all about and although we have discussed it, he can't help himself, he has to fully explain everything.  But, hey, that's O.K. because I learn things I would never learn otherwise.

A Response on illigal Immigration

I simply cannot read every word of this article.  Very simply put, it is the sort of thing that is afflicting this entire nation. It is possible that it is also afflicting both east and west throughout the European countries.  Perhaps I should say, the countries with a like minded philosophy based on Judeo-Christian teaching.  We are, a true minority on this planet, at least in so far as our understanding of what the Judeo-Christian dictates are.  Not, that a strong minority of Americans and, apparently, a large number of Europeans  do not follow this philosophy quite as you and/or I might.  

The problem is simply this, in my view:  people with nothing to live for in their respective countries go where they feel they can better the lives of themselves and their young.  The problem continues in large measure because, unlike our parents', these immigrants  arrive illegally and are supported by organizations that tell them, on a daily basis, that this or that country is theirs and they should be as they wish.  Unfortunately, our way of life finds it difficult to accommodate this outlook.  We expect, as I am sure Americans in the Forties expected, that we would become Americans and serve the country that had adopted us as full American citizens.  We came with the Calvinist work ethic, as most Judeo-Christian folk did also. 

Now, you ask:  are not the hispanics deluging our country illegally, not also of the Judeo-Christian persuasion?  No, because in the hearts of these people, many uneducated in any fundamental way, they have a philosophy that has been created from a combination of their ancient cultures' and Christianity.  Beliefs that came from civilizations extinct, but whose cultures continue to exist with the gene pool of these poor people.    In that way it is different than what we, in America and other Western countries experience.  We have, after all, been at the evolution of Judaism/Christianity for two thousand years,  The Reformation assisted in a less dogmatic form of the religion.  This didn't happen here in the Americas.  The native American Indians are individualistic and because they were not allowed to assimilate, but allowed to retain their cultures, whether by choice or not, is another point for another time.  The "elites" in the rest of the Americas, prevented the growth of what might be called, mature people, and allowed the cultures to blend the ancient with the newcomer faith.   I believe that this fundamentally changes the type of hispanic that today comes to our country.  They are the peons, different from the Islamofascists that are pouring into countries around the world.  The difference is that the peons will change a country only so much because they will be changed also.  The Islamofascists will not allow a change and there, the danger is exponentially huge..but that is for another day.

However, the big issue is, and will continue to be the word illegal.  America, however dysfunctional, is still a country of rules, morals, law and order.  We have had to put up with the anthesis of of our standards in so many areas of life, particularly beginning in the 60's,  that we are angry, tired and not ready to give in anymore, regardless of how fair, important or bad a thing is.  There is a huge majority of people like this in this country.  We are not filled with hatred, but with frustration that our beliefs and lifestyles are being thrown in our faces on a daily basis.  We are beginning to understand so much of what is real and true vs. what the MSM and the elites in this country have been shoving down the throats of our children and ourselves.  It is a very strong undercurrent and most apparent in that one place where most can speak, see and hear other sides of all issues, the internet.  But, we are fairer to others then they are to us,  but we will persevere nonetheless, and will come to terms with these new people if someone finally says "enough, we will do it, this time correctly".

Am I rambling?  It is a problem with my writing that nothing can be compartmentalized for easy communication because so much is not simple or straight forward, black or white in any facet of life.  Always there are tangents that are causations  that must be explored and fitted into one's overall understanding of things.  I envy you your science and your faith. 

Enough for this evening.  I must stop the bubbling in my brain and let it devolve into thoughts.

Doug #10 read quite a bit of the back and forth of your link, mainly because I love Hitchens.

Lots of “talk” (read posts) but, no concrete consensus about what to do, now, today with any specificity.

Right or wrong, here is what I know:

1. There is a percentage of h... sapiens that hate us because we, through our existence, threaten their ability to control their populations. How do you tell people they can’t have when all around them they are beginning to see what is possible? Keep them afraid through force and/or religion and/or ideology. Keep the kiddies so brainwashed they can no longer think for themselves. Imprison, torture or kill to maintain fear as an operative means of thought and behavior control.

2. The h... sapiens that wish to help, do good, educate, feed, nurse cannot do any more than that. They assume that this will be enough, but it never is.  Because, in order to make the world a better place, you must start with the mind, heart and soul. I would bet you that the North Korean people would fight to the death whether food was provided or not. In that sad country, three generations have passed away and today just about every mind, heart and soul belongs to Kim.

3. There has been no generation that has passed away with a different belief system in the Middle East.  The Islamic faith and their tribal cultures still hold dominance. This generation has just begun to see what can be but may not be able to overcome inbred bias, hatred and tribal alliance.

4. The uberLeft has been on their path for decades here in the USA and they hark back to the same tired memes as the world “out there” appears to want the world to become: populations controlled by, ideology (USA/EU), religion (Middle East), force (China/Russia) all in an effort to tell everyone how to live and procreate. That is precisely why the EU is fast becoming extinct.

America’s saving grace of the moment is that the Left can only use words by whatever means they choose to try and destroy the right and the traditionalists, but no physical or military force…at least not yet.

At my age, I will not see the end of the struggle, if indeed there ever will be an end. However, I feel fear for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The same fear I think many people felt when they were in the thick of the Nazi or Japanese oppression. Think Mao, Stalin, Id Amin Pol Pot, on and on and on.

The Koskids may indeed be silent (I don’t read them) because what is there for them to say. They blame Bush or America for absolutely everything and now face the possibility that their chance to take back the power they had for sixty years may be stopped by people coming here to kill us enmasse. What can be said?

I didn’t say there was nothing that could be done. I meant Hitchens, et.al. Actually, there is something that can be done, but won’t be done: Russia could join with the US/UK to insure Iran stays out of other people’s business, at least right now. But, Russia either can’t or won’t…I think won’t because they want to be the “big guns”. The US/UK could use all their guns but that could only be done if everyone “goes to the mattress”…no preconditions, just get it done. They won’t either because the other kiddies on the block will hate us.

Unlike Kos, I don’t sit on anyone’s shoulders but my own. I have and do read numerous articles, blogs, follow links and do the best I can to see as many sides as possible. One benefit to the internet is that I can accomplish in one week what it would have taken months pre the internet.

But, not knowing how old you are, let me say that my age also helps. I’ve seen, lived through and experienced a great deal of life and have my own philosophy cobbled by all the aforementioned.

Plamed Out?

Well, Robert Novak has finally spoken about the "Plame Affair".  What will the MSM and lefties do?  There will be a silence all across the land.  They are not blind, deaf or dumb so I am sure they understand that another one of their attacks has proven to be wrong, again.  You would think that someone, somewhere in the Left World would get the message:  you can't lie anymore and get away with it". 

Now that I have said that, it is also true that for many of the regular folk, there will continue to be Flatearthers.  No amount of truth or proof will sway their minds.  It would be very amusing is it weren't so serious.  The regular folks do not understand what it is they are standing up for.  Who leads them or why.  They behave as if any word spoken by those on their side who are trying to win back power at whatever cost, are like Christ at the Sermon on the Mount.  "Holy" words to die for.  Amazing!

There is so much stuff out there that for the first time in history, I think, there may be too much!!  If you are "normal" you get up watch local news while you prepare for work, hear bits and pieces on the ride to take the kids to school and get yourself to work.  Pick up other tidbits from the local rag, during lunch, drive home.  Turn on the tube and maybe, this depends on the age of the children in your home, you turn on the news again or, you watch it just before you listen to Jay Leno (I don't), turn off the tube and proceed into the land of dreams.  That's it.  You might read pieces of magazines throughout the month, maybe while you get your hair cut or stand in the checkout line at the grocery store take in what Brad and Angelina are up to.

This is the extent of the information that gets into the "normal: person's head.  If, like my daughter, you are too busy and stressed out trying to run your department and all that entails, your home and spending time with your kids, then your impressions are formed by "bytes" of info that have sailed by you.  95% of what needs to be known, explored, thought about and verified just floats out there for the committed, crazies, or those like me who love to know almost everything out there and the whys of it.

Oh well, ce la vie? (Can't read French...so don't know if I spelled that right.
