Well Obama is now so desperate that he outright lying. Check out FactCheck.org that has been trying very
hard to stay as close to the middle as possible.
1. Scares seniors with the notion that if McCain had his way our social security would have been
in the stock market as it crashed...
2. He tells the audience that McCain is a "friend" of Rush Limbaugh....no, he is not joking...
3. His campaign has a sore POW, Phil Butler. Phil Butler was certainly a POW and the reason
he hates John McCain is because McCain did what Phil could not: take the beatings to save other POWs
that might not have may it otherwise...check it out...
But, this brings up to me another matter. A while back I blogged about my brother, the physicist, and the possibility that I might be losing him. We have talked two or three times since that post and I have to say that he is closer to being lost to me than before. Before anyone thinks I am too harsh, let me say that what I mean by "being lost to me" is that I will no longer engage him in anything outside of family matters. No more religion, politics, ethics, humanity....no, because he will have gone over to the side that does not believe as I do. While these thoughts swirled in my head and to some degree saddened me, I also discussed it with my youngest son and daughter. They both agree that just because you appear to be a genius, that doesn't mean you have any common sense. And, if you don't have common sense you cannot have street smarts and you are liable to end up drowned on a day when rain pours from the sky and you spend your time looking up without an umbrella...how can you not agree with common sense and streets smarts. Particularly if you live in Southern California for goodness sake. Those are the most important attributes to have just so you don't wander into forbidden territory or open your mouth in the wrong place and/or the wrong time or both and get either mugged or killed. You have to have common sense and street smarts to survive the jungle that is Southern California.
So, I come at last to lying...disingenuous is not descriptive enough, it is too nice. Lying! And, if you can lie easily as politicians seem to be able to do, then cheating isn't far away. I have read so many lies about Bush these past years that hearing the trash spewing out of the UberLefties doesn't get to me as much, but when they lie about McCain and especially Sarah Palin, I know they have completely lost their minds. And what really scares me is that these crazy people will be running the show because the dead will vote for them, animals will vote for them, illegal aliens will vote for them and even if they lose they accuse us of doing what they have always done and take everything to court. And, if they get their way, what will happen to us besides being shut out of freedom of speech? That scare me. We are not too far from George Orwall's "1984" anymore...we are right on the cusp.
Russia is marching, Chavez is fuming, Raul is quiet but who knows, Ahmadinejad is stompting his little feet, Kim John Ill is almost dead and worse may come, Hu Jintao is lurking and Al Qaeda is still deadly. And, we have our Democrat politicians, their friends and celebrities, all media, all lying. What a predicament!
