Well before the speech and ahead of time, I want to put down what I think our President Barack Obama will try to do with his speech tomorrow night. He has been in consultation with Bill Clinton and his large and roving group of Uber Progressives like Podesta since before the election last November. But, the depth of his meetings began with a fury when he got shellacked, his word. Behind closed doors at all hours of the day and night, there has been an urgency to make sure no stone is unturned or thrown that will impede a second term and the finish of the progressive agenda in the second term.
I believe and have written before, that Barack and his machine never thought to win the presidency in 2008...they were going to introduce him to us and then wait on Hillary for two terms. But, having worked so diligently for decades, preparing each generation born with their ideology they were not about to change their ways just because Hillary was a proud member of their group...so some, within, saw the opportunity and turned their ugly machinations on her. Bill got angry, but, a progressive never gets angry enough to turn his back on the Cause. The Cause, after all, is the reason for being. When Obama was elected and got a majority in both houses, hubris caused them to be so nonpartisan and mean spirited....remember the "We won! Your turn in the back of the bus..." comments? They were dead serious and the most leftist, progressive agenda since Franklin Roosevelt was begun with a vengeance.
It is no wonder that they were stunned speechless when the result of the November, 2010 election cycle was over: they and he, Obama, had been roundly repudiated by the American voters. Alive/dead/legal/illegal/duplicate voters didn't matter, they were, in Obama's own word: SHELLACKED!! What to do? What to do? The great unwashed did not go alone quietly. In fact, something called the Tea Party faction rose up and nothing they did by calling them names, accusing them of racism, violent behavior, dirty and stupid worked. This group was bolstered by Glenn Beck who managed the unthinkable, to the progressives, he got around 500,000 to come from around the country and participate in a rally bigger than Obama himself had been able to draw with a "ground game", the union membership. They were beyond stunned!
So, as a very good progressive lad, Barack Obama, began moving to the center. He kicked and screamed every step he was dragged, but he went. But, and here is the kicker: OBAMA NEVER CHANGED, he is not, in his heart or any part of him going to or ending up in the center. Tomorrow night the progressive media will be out for blood. Yours and mine, but in particular for every American in America who voted out his supporters in Congress. They will have this man say every word, carefully structured, they have written. He will have to have teleprompters, hopefully hidden and he will deliver the speech of this new century. But, it will not work for long because you cannot hide elitism, hubris and hate and the progressives will use those and every other method from the Saul Alinsky/Soros/Podesta/Clinton playbook. All stops are off. It's full steam ahead. For, if this game is won on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, with this carefully crafted State of the Union speech, then the progressives will have won and the America we have come to know and love will disappear faster then ever. My grandchildren, the oldest is 25, will not recognize it. We will have a progressive rule book at our bedside telling us how they want us to live from the moment we open our eyes in the morning to the moment we close them.
