This first comment is regarding a new article "The State Against Blacks", by Jason L. Riley has gotten, so far, 390 responses. It appears in the Wall Street Journal, January 22, 2011. The following comments are in response to responses to my first comment. It is a small way to connect with the pro and cons of a thing. I think I spend so much commenting via posts on a variety of media and sites on the Internet, that I forget to post here. But, this article is indicative of what slowing coming to fruition in America: the awakening of "we the people" to the machinations of the uber progressive left in this country for over 100 years. There are so many different ways today for each of us to make our statements and even though only 390 posts show up, it is impossible to tell how many "read", not only the article but the comments. If anyone wishes to see why our Progressive, Democratic, Liberal politicians make the statements they do on a daily basis, or, why the public airways and print media lean their way, just come to good sites like the Wall St. Journal and read the comments on any article. It is very enlightening. Also, even if C-Span or Booktv appear to be in the middle, don't believe it...they are just not as exhibitionist as the rest of the media. But, there are wonderful nuggets to mine. This morning I listened to Dinesh D'Souza's exposition on his new book "The Roots of Obama's Rage". Or, the superior new book:
The Farhud: Roots of the Arab-Nazi Alliance During the Holocaust
....an excellent presentation by the author, Edwin Black.
(#1) 'Sometimes I sarcastically, perhaps cynically, say
that I'm glad that I received virtually all of my education before it
became fashionable for white people to like black people," writes Walter
Williams......I could not agree more with Mr. Williams. But, he needs
to make a distinction: "elite" white and black people who didn't really
like you, but saw their agenda served by promoting their ideology. That
is the problem. The progressive uberleft's road to hell is paved with
"good" intentions. I couldn't understand why black children were made to
get up extra early, bussed clear across town only to learn to despise
their teachers, classmates and administrators. I would have too! I was
sick to my stomach in those days because, even as a young mother, I
understood why this forced integration was wrong. So many decisions made
by both black and white elites looking to "change", "transform" America
into a :"more socially correct" country. ..we took a whole group of
people and via the canard of "helping"/welfare, destroyed the
communities across America. What these elites did was to create hate on
both sides, unfairness on both sides so that today, everyone looks
around and wonders were America went. There were better ways to
integrate us but no one gave that any real deep thought. The
consequences have been horrible, especially for the people related to
the ghettos around the country. We need to stop the ideology of hate
that has been foisted on us for decades. We are all 100% identical
beneath our skins....we all bleed, hurt, mourn. Many of us are lonely,
homeless, unloved. This is the true problem.
