In response to a fellow conservatives and military types on another site. I am trying to explain what happened and that name calling and hatred are not called for. Slow and steady wins this race:
Mr. Clough, I think most decent, intelligent people in America now know what has been happening. It took most of them awhile, but I believe the majority have woken up. We live in a country that would be impossible to move quickly unless you had the power as Obama and the Uberliberals do. Not for long, thank goodness....but I think we all can see the damage that has been inflicted on America and the damage coming with healthcare, cap & trade and more stimulus. In actual fact, sir, the Uberleftys have been attempting to gain and remake America since it's founding. Those who hated what this country became moved to Europe and Canada. But there was a goodly percentage who stayed and continued to try and gain control. In the l880's, they lost big time, they were known as the Douglas Democrats. After failing to gain any traction they merged with the Democratic Party in the l930's and began to move into power positions throughout the governments at every level. As a matter of fact, Beck outlines this starting before Woodrow Wilson. Does anyone remember Helen G. Douglas, and the list of Hollywood people blacklisted, the Rosenbergs and the infamous, Alger Hiss? Well, when the Soviet Empire fell apart and we were allowed to look into their secret files, everyone aforementioned were indeed working for the Soviets...they were called "travellers", I believe.
Anyway, beginning in the l950's they started their inroads at a rapid pace into this country until the election of 2008, which was the culmination of their goals. I believe, however, that a good portion of them are not "really" socialist/communists....many are beginning to see what they bought into was not what they thought...not many, but they are there. So, it has to be steady as she goes. We have to stop name calling and avoid hatred. We need to talk, talk and talk....post, post and post, comment, comment and comment and assist where we can. Did Mr. Clough respond, I don't know. I seldom return to articles where I posted. it is time consuming for one and many sites don't post right away and frankly there just isn't time to waste.
