Most every day, I start out with a cuppa coffee and my blogs. Most every day, because of my blogs, I end up
writing emails to the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and other newspapers commenting on their
coverage or lack thereof on many subjects. I also email, when I can government officials although they make it
very tough to do. They have put themselves behind concrete walls and unless you give them every personal bit
of information on yourself, you can't get through. So, I call. I am lucky. There is one set fee for as many calls as I
can make to anywhere in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico, I think. I have never called Mexico,
so I don't know for sure. I can call to my heart's content and I do. I let the Senators know where I stand on an
issue they need to support or not. I call my local officials too, although that is less worthwhile in the long run
because, like the federals, they never get back to you and they're local.
But, what happens is that I end up with less time to post to my blog. And, there is also the little problem that
a couple of my favorite blogs have changed or gone and I am grieving!! At my age I don't like change. I know
I must live with it and I do, but is isn't easy. I now have to go directly to Chris Muir's site to see his daily cartoon.
And I must pay more careful attention to who is doing what to whom. However, on the lighter side, I do have extra
time to read science stories and tech stories and poke around Target a bit (one of my favorite stores). But, my blog
has suffered and I have been remiss. There is much hope this will change.
